Ground Forward Consulting was founded by Peter Carhart on a simple belief: successful projects begin long before construction starts. They begin with practical planning, experienced guidance, and a clear understanding of what it takes to turn plans on paper into successful projects in the field.

Peter brings 37 years of experience in site development, underground utilities, and heavy highway construction to Ground Forward. A graduate of Chico State University, he has spent his career working across the many sides of the construction and development process—from complex field operations to management and project leadership.

Throughout his career, Peter has worked with private developers, municipalities, contractors, engineers, and other project stakeholders, giving him a broad perspective on the challenges that can arise between initial planning and final construction. His experience in managerial positions has reinforced an approach centered on anticipating problems, communicating clearly, managing risk, and finding practical solutions that keep projects moving forward.

Peter’s commitment extends beyond individual projects. His service on community boards has given him an appreciation for the lasting impact development and infrastructure decisions have on the places where people live and work.
